As a modern consumer society we are becoming a throwaway society, which is causing the amount of rubbish we produce to increase alarmingly. We therefore need your help to Watch your waste & take more responsibility for the amount of rubbish we create! Everyone has an important contribution to make. See what you can do straight away and how we can help you to:

BIN DIET! It's as easy as A, B, C!
You can help by Watching your waste & following our bin diet!
AEROBICS! - Take up aerobic composting, (a composting process using air), with our reduced price compost bin that will decrease the 1/3 of dustbin waste that is compostable, click here to find out more.
BUY CAREFULLY! - Reduce your waste at the supermarket by buying less packaged products.
Buying recycled & refillables will reduce the 1/3 of the dustbin waste that is made up of packaging.
RECYCLING! - Recycle 1 bag of newspapers every few weeks using the Councils kerbside waste paper & card collection scheme operating in most areas. Bin Diet! Do at least one thing a week it’s easy!
DON'T BAG IT
buy things with little or no packaging, they can be cheaper, e.g. eat fresh fruit for a snack instead of crisps in a packet.
USE IT
use perishables before their sell by date. Don't cook more than you require & feed leftovers to pets or the birds where appropriate.
BUY LONGLIFE
buy things that will last longer or can be repaired. When buying ask about warranty/guarantee & product durability. Buy low energy light bulbs.
REUSE IT
reuse things e.g. make your own jams, beers or wines to reuse bottles & jars, reuse carrier bags.
DON'T BIN IT
if you can't reuse furniture & other items yourself, give them to those who or need them. See the A to Z of recycling.
REFILL IT
buy things that can be refilled, it can also save you money. Buy milk from a milkman in returnable glass bottles.
BUY RECYCLED
buy things that are recycled to help create markets for recycling collections & encourage stores to stock them.
BAG FOR LIFE
reuse a strong bag for shopping instead of using a lot of carrier bags.
RECYCLE IT
use your local recycling services, IT’S EASY! In most areas we collect paper, glass, cans, plastic bottles & card
from your door or take them to the recycling banks when you are passing them. See the A to Z of recycling.
if you have a garden, compost your garden waste, vegetable peelings & other organic rubbish, which gives you free compost.
